To use Hypromellose Eye Drops, wash your hands well and tilt your head back. Pull the lower lid of your eye downwards to form a pocket. Hold the bottle between your thumb and middle finger or your other hand and with your index finger apply moderate pressure to the base of the bottle to release one drop of hypromellose solution. Blink your eye a few times. If you think that you have missed the eye, then insert another drop. Repeat the process in your other eye if you have been told to use the drops in both eyes. Replace the cap while trying to not touch the applicator tip with anything.
Hypromellose Eye Drops are 0.3% w/v solutions containing hypromellose, benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, borax, boric acid, and water for injection.
Hypromellose Eye Drops are suitable for people of all ages who suffer from eye dryness and soreness, particularly when the dryness is caused by a reduced flow of tears.
Do not wear soft contact lenses while you are using Hypromellose Eye Drops unless your doctor or pharmacist has advised you otherwise. This is because there is a preservative in many of the brands of hypromellose eye drops which can affect soft contact lenses.
